Welcome to the 1/12 Electric Circuit Section of the BRCA.
1/12 scale is one of the oldest RC racing classes still in existence and can trace it's roots way back to the 1970's. Traditionally it was a training and development ground for drivers who later went on to become champions in this and other classes. More recently the class has become more specialised, due in no small part to the development of a wide range of other RC categories over the years.
That said, 1/12 is still a class that caters for competitors of all ages and abilities. The recent introduction of the GT12 class has resulted in an explosion in popularity of 1/12 scale racing at club level, and our national championships continue to be well attended.

By Paul Thompson While the racing was fiercely contested across every final, the weekend ultimately belonged to Sam Coult, who marked his birthday in the best possible fashion — by securing a dominant overall victory and back-to-back National GP titles.
Saturday afternoon’s qualifying sessions immediately signalled Coult’s intent. Running the FTQ (Fastest Time Qualifying) format, Sam quickly established himself at the top of the leaderboard with a perfectly dialled-in setup.
However, by the close of Sunday morning’s final qualifying round, it was 2022 GT Champion Dan Robins who secured TQ (Top Qualifier) honours, placing his Schumacher Atom 3 on pole position for the triple-leg A-Final.
Joining Robins and Coult at the sharp end of the grid were Matt Gammons and rising star Freddy Parker, setting the stage for a high-precision battle where the smallest error would prove decisive.
The GP format featured three A-Final legs, with each driver’s two best scores determining the overall result.
Leg 1
Coult struck first. Delivering a calm, controlled drive under sustained pressure from Gammons and Robins, he maintained a narrow but consistent gap to secure the opening win.
Leg 2
With the title within reach, Coult again ran strongly — but this time Robins delivered a masterclass. Navigating the technical Tamworth layout with clinical precision, Dan claimed the leg win, setting up a winner-takes-all showdown in Leg 3.
Leg 3
A slightly untidy start shuffled the order, allowing Freddy Parker to emerge at the front, closely shadowed by Coult and Robins. At this level, margins are microscopic — and a minor mistake was all it took for Coult and Robins to move through and resume their duel.
In the closing laps, Robins searched relentlessly for a way past, but Coult’s defensive driving was flawless. The chequered flag confirmed the win — and a second consecutive GT12 National GP crown.

The Junior title was successfully retained by Freddy Parker, whose outstanding pace earned him a well-deserved place in the A-Final.
Second and third in the Junior standings went to Charlie Hull and Elliot Wagstaff — congratulations to all three drivers on an excellent weekend.
In the Veterans category, David Gale once again claimed top honours. Impressively, all three category champions competed in the A-Final — a testament to the depth of talent within the class.
The Concours awards went to James Eaves and Josh Flanagan for their exceptional paint schemes, with prizes kindly supplied by Phat Bodies.
The Tamworth Radio Racing Auto Club delivered a flawlessly run event, providing a track surface that enabled some of the cleanest and most competitive racing of the season.
